ReflexologyMany of us know that stress is a big killer. On the lower end of the scale it can lead to headaches (even worse, migraines!), stiff neck and shoulders, and if left unchecked, on to even more serious conditions such as ulcers, IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), sciatica, as well as the 'Big C' itself; Cancer.

In today's world, for many, stress seems inescapable, but wouldn't it be great if you could deal with stress head on, and not have to worry about it, knowing that you were being taken care of to help alleviate stress and some of its related conditions.

One of the ways of tackling stress is through treatments such as reflexology.

It is practised the world over as a relaxing, holistic therapy that can invigorate and revitalise the entire body. But did you know that it can also help significantly reduce stress? Thus, greatly reducing the risk of developing the various conditions that are associated with it?

Reflexology works on the principal that the entire body's organs and systems are mapped out on various parts of the feet and are connected through an intricate network of over 7,000 nerves. By applying pressure to these reflex areas on the feet, by mainly using the thumbs and forefingers, you can help relax, relieve stress, eliminate toxins, increase energy levels and create a sense of balance (homeostasis) within the body. Reflexology is also used to treat a host of other illnesses and conditions.

Although experienced and felt through the body, the effects of Reflexology happen on a mental level as well, not just a physical one.
