PlanNow, where to start with this topic! The options are endless, so I am going to try and keep it brief, simple and to the point...

"The best nutritional approach for you is the one that you can see yourself doing a year from now, it is as simple as that."

Now is the tricky part, how to select the right approach. Every one of us is different, what works or worked for someone else may or may not work for you, this is where a bit of experimentation or trial and error comes in.

But first things first, before deciding how you are going to set up your nutrition you need to start at the beginning. The King of all when it comes to weight loss are Calories, if you have not got this number sorted then you could have the most appropriate nutritional approach but you will not reach your goals. To find out how many calories your body needs to meet your goals there are numerous online calculators that you can use to give you your base number and then you can start from there.

Once you have your calories, you can then look at what approach is most suited to you. Does your body react better to a higher fat, lower carbohydrate diet? Or would a more balanced macronutrient approach be better suited? Ultimately your success comes down to calories, there are no demon food types! Don’t let the media demonise food groups and lead you to believe that if you eat carbs after 6 they’ll automatically be stored as fat, that’s nonsense!

Then the fun can begin and you can get creative and conjour up things like this........
